Hello krazykara;

If you remove the hard disk drive does it still make the same sound?

I am not locked out it happens about 60 % of the time when logging into computer. How do I go about removing the hard disc drive?

Follow the instructions in your model's manual.

Look for a folder named ACER. Your manual is on the computer in .PDF format.

Can you tell where the sound comes from?

Besides the hard disk, the only other thing I can thing of that might make a "horrible sound" (not quite sure what that means) might be the cooling fan.

Having looked over the layout I can't think what would be making that noise.
If you disable all sounds in Windows - are you still getting that sound?
That would suggest it's coming from the speakers and it's not mechanical issue with the laptop.

That's fine for those that have internet connections.
For everyone else - it's already on the laptop.
