My wifi connected but internet is not accssing

I'm travelling with a Laptop at the moment and sometimes when I've tried to connect to a wifi signal it says connected but there is no internet access (and a yellow exclamation mark over the wifi symbol). Most times I've noticed other people are connected so I wonder if it something to do with my computer rather than the router? Any ideas how to solve this or what setting I should look at on the computer?

Check the TCP IP Setting.. enable the "obtain an ip address Automatically"

and make sure the encryption settings on the laptop is the same as the router.
