Cannot install Service Pack 1

I tried update it via Windows Update, error. I donwloaded the installer from Microsoft webiste, it gone to about 60% then it stopped, the window closed, nothing happened.
Please repy as fast as you can. (Sorry for bad English btw. )

No, it's not freezing. I get the code everytime in Windows Update: 8024200D

Try restarting your computer and trying again. Make sure that all other updates are installed.

if it still not working you can try SURT to fix problem with windows update packages

go to https://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
and choose the correct os you have

Glad that worked,
Had the same problem on wife's system, tried everyway to sunday to correct - no way hosie. My final step was to perform an UPgrade of win 7 using win 7. This DID correct problem as it re-downloaded/installed ALL updates. But it did retain all settings and installed programs.
A Last resort fix.
