is the P III 800EB about the same speed as an 1GHz or 1,1GHz Celeron? (all coppermines).

In most popular Windows applications, I think 1.xGHz Celeron is faster than P-III 800EB.

Yes, the PIII 800EB is about the same speed in most high end apps as the Celeron 1.1GHz. High end apps, such as games and video editing, rely more on high speed cache access and memory transfer, which are the PIII-EB strongpoints.
