Either one sounds reasonable for average use, but I would choose Lenovo based on their better reliability rating and the intel P series processor is energy efficient. If you could buy a machine with the latest i3 processor it would be even better.

Thanks cadder, I'm more inclined towards the Lenovo. I will very probably go for it.
  3. The Lenovo is the better cpu at least of those two.

If I were you I would look at a i3 laptop with hyperthreading.
  4. Yup definately go with the Lenovo and I agree with everyone else a nice cheap i3 laptop would be definately worth looking at.
  5. thanks GeekApproved & cull501, Lenovo it will be.
  6. i ended up buying a toshiba laptop with i3 for $407 , 3gb, 320gb...
  7. Got a link for that deal?
In case anyone else is looking for something in that price range.
  8. Toshiba Satellite C655 15" laptop $380
Pentium B940 2.0Ghz CPU (Sandy Bridge family), 3GB RAM, 320GB HDD, DVD Burner, WiFi, Webcam, 15.6" 1366x768 LCD w/ Intel HD 2000 Graphics

That's pretty good for an under $400 laptop.
