I have grown very impatient waiting for the thoroughbreads and am thinking of picking up a low cost chip just to tie me over until I make my final purchase. I don't know how much longer I can go without a machine at home. Overclocking is definately an option. I was thinking of maybe a duron 600 - 950. Duron 600 would be fine for now, but the 950s are almost the same price. Anyways, here is my current setup.

Abit KR7A-R
Thermaltake Volcano 7+
Coolermaster ATC-210
Radeon 8500 LE 128MB
512 MB DDR Corsair 2400 Cas 2

And yes, if having a thoroughbread means I must upgrade my mobo, then I will do so, and in turn my brother will get a mobo upgrade as well ;) (but I'll deal with that when the time comes, for now I need a machine that works!)

I personally wouldn't pay the price CoolerMaster demands, but otherwise everything should be fine.

Ok great. But what CPU would you buy to hold you over if you were in my position? Duron? Thunderbird? What's the best deal?
