I recently waged war with my sister’s brand new laptop over the weekend.
It came with Windows 8 and I decided to remove it and install Windows 7.
After a long and drunken battle, I managed to get everything working, except for the SM Bus controller, which is being displayed as driverless in the device manager. This should be easy enough to fix right? Wrong. All the drivers on the HP website are for Windows 8! There is absolutely no support from HP for Windows 7! I managed to scour the internet and find the drivers for all of the devices in the laptop, but no luck with the SM Bus Controller. Without knowing the chipset on the laptop’s motherboard, the search is useless. Now, can anyone help me with this?
