usb should automatically be detected after installing operating system.

They should, but they actually don't recognise their hardware correctly and present them with conflicts...

A note: Probably the conflict is created by another piece of hardware, like WiFi card or Bluetooth coonection card - they all mess up in Toshiba laptops   - so download and install their drivers and there's a good chance that your problem will go away. And first of all you'll need to install the right chipset driver too.
