quite old. Older XPs have run fine in MP config. Note also this does not make an XP an MP. It is circumventing the SMP lock on the XP package to allow you to run them in MP configurations - however the difference beyond that lock and any MP or XP chip has only been testing/certification and warranty....

Thanks for your clear explanation. I sometimes wonder when
chips from the same FAB are atbitrarily (?) labelled or crippled depending on the usual supply/demand/price considerations. It is up to us to try to identify these practises and vote with our wallet (pocketbook in USA)
