Does it try to boot up, or does it do nothing at all? In the BIOS make sure you have the RAID set as your 1st or 2nd (after the floppy drive) boot device. On my previous PC, I had to set it to "Other." On my current PC it's set to "SCSI Adapter."

well ... the problem now is that it i can get it to boot up but once i shut it off it won't boot up again. I have to clear the cmos and then it boots up.
looks like RAID does not work with this motherboard!

Not really. Most recommend both as master on seperate channels, but as master / slave on one channel or the other, it may eliminate other possibilities from the list.
