Since there seems to be some many negatvie opinions on the AMD market naming scheme, I thought a post would be appropriate.

So...what would you name the Hammer?

There was a thread somewhere else around here that was asking for names for it...oh well...don't know where it was.

you are all missing the point! the real question shoild be " is it a boy processor or a girl one?"
if its a boy id call it John and if its a girl id call it Vanessa :tongue:

who cares what its called as long as it kicks ass when it finally appears!

Well its easy, I'd just name it "CPU". for instance when speaking to it:
"Damn CPU work!
Damn CPU overclock more :smile:
Nice CPU thanks for performing so well
DAMN CPU get your hands off my girl!
Ok sorry CPU didn't mean to get so angry, we friends still?
Your right CPU we need some time apart
No CPU I won't kiss you for a dollar"

Well all seriousness aside I REALLY think Hammer was a perfect name, but Opteron does make sense, no matter how weird it feels rolling off your tongue. Either way no matter what its called, I'll name the computer its in "Beastmachine" :smile:

If my response is brief and vague its because the info you provided is too!
