What's this new EBP disignation after Intel PIII processors?

Am upgrading from 667 to 1g.
Most PIII 133 Fsb processors have been desiganted 1000EB...
Now some are 1000EBP..

Anything special apout EBP? except maype FCPGA...
And will a FCPCA2 fit reqular s370 socket? Will normal HSF fit FCPGA2 chip?
(I think the FCPGA2 is a bit taller with builtin heat spreader???)

Will all above, if coppermine(not tantium?), work in most PIII mobo's supporting 1G???

Specifically, will a PIII 1000EBP work in Asys P3V4x???
(The 1000EB does!) Any real diference???

All the socketed PII/PIII chips will FIT the socket 370, but you cannot use a newer chip in an older design (like FCPGA will not work in older boards). The newer board designs are back compatible but the new chips wont work in old boards. If the 1000mhz is coppermine it should be ok, but I am not sure of the EBP designation. In fact I cant find a chip on the price search sites with 1000EBP!

I know nothing of this new designation you speak of, but the compatability is basically a voltage issue. The PIII 1000EB is available from 1.65v to 1.75v in both FC-PGA and FC-PGA2 packaging, all are cross-compatable. The lower voltage Tualtins will not work on older boards, and these are normally 1.475v.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?
