I have read many posts in the past days discussing the inaccuracy of asus probe. Right now I am running an AXP 1700+ cooled with 6 case fans, an AX-7 heatsink, and a delta 67 cfm fan yet both asus probe and mbm report the temp to be around 44 C Is there any other way to measure the temp of the CPU? I dont think it is really that hot cause if it were, wouldnt it be unstable?

44 isn't a terrible temperature. What are you running under load? I'm extracting/encoding mp3s on the fly right now and I'm reading 45. I have a retail HSF and two case fans (one in one out). Of course my basement is nice and chilly, so that helps alot. Since both asusprobe and MBM are reporting off temps, it could be that the actual temp probe on your MB is calibrated incorrectly. I'm sure you can get a better one somehow/somewhere, but I can't help you with that.

despite opposite opinions, i think that asus temps are rather accurate.

my temps through mbm are: idle cpu 44°C, mb 29°C.
