I know Newegg rules in service and everything, and is pretty cheap, but is there anywhere cheaper with a good record like Newegg??? Looking to save a little money :)

Check out resellerratings.com and make a plunge. I always end up (yesterday made a purchase) back at newegg. I'd love to find another place outside of CA so that I could avoid sales tax.

One place that has caught my eye, but I haven't tried yet, is allstarshop.com

One thing to note is that there are some places that are relatively popular, but gave me a bad taste in my mouth on the first (and last) purchase. First impressions are kind of important.

tcwo.com
mwave.com

Another one that I haven't tried that is supposed to be good is googlegear.com

A good place to search for the cheapest prices: Price Watch®. But you should still use ResellerRating.com to check on recent comments about the merchants. The lowest price might not be the best deal if the company is in the process of filing for bankruptcy, has a tendency to ignore customer complaints, takes weeks to ship a package, or refuses to correctly handle a RMA.

I've bought a lot of components from Directron, and I buy all my hard drives in bulk from this outfit ... no one else. Some resellers have shoddy packaging and shipping departments, (i.e. it's always such a thrill to receive a HD that looks like it's been through a war during the transit ... without any real cushioning in the box) but this company is the best in that regard.

www.pcprogress.com is a few bucks cheaper than newegg and they have good customer service too.

if you are in the northeast try Essential Computers they offer tech support (which newegg does not) and they are fairly priced and very reliable.

Leave a real link

I like www.newegg.com for service and selection. I like their selection of Cases and Hard Drives and CDROM's. This time around I purchase a Processor from www.googlegear.com because they had free 2nd Day Air Shipping on their processors. I noticed they have some deals like that on selected ANTEC power supplies too.

when you see smoke is that a good sign?

I would recommend Essencompu.com, I have used it so many times in the last month I'm like a honorary member.

Western Digital Raptor:
137.00 + 11.96 shipping 2 day delivery [Newegg.com]
139.00 + 0.00 shipping 2 day delivery [Essencompu.com]

Now I know other things may apply like restocking fees etc. but so far I havent returned anything purchased in the last few years. And most of the time you only have to send the item to the manufacturer like HD's when they are bad.

Cheaper with a good record? That would be essencompu.com also known as Essential Computer. They have FREE FEDEX 2DAY SHIPPING for selected items. Been purchasing with them for the last year. Haven't encounter any problems YET...=)

I have the best luck with ebuyer, www.ebuyer.com

I got a blue cathode tube for $8.99 for my Antec Chasis. Recently I also got a Memorex DVDRW for $119.38. Kodak DX4330 for $219 and change. Both of those were refurbs but excellent condition and price. ALL WITH FREE SHIPPING AND NO CALIFORNIA TAX!!!!

This place is great. Best part is their customer service reps speak CLEAR english unlike newegg and googlegear.

This place is also by far the best at Flash memory and networking. Check them out. AMAZING place!!! And free shipping on everything not just certain items.
