I just noticed that my CPU usage is a sustained 100% (for the past 15 minutes). I often hit 100% for small amounts of times, but it has never stayed there (it NEVER drops below). What could be causing this? I am not even running anything except for Win2K Pro, EZ Trust Antivirus, TB Santa Cruz software, Video card s/w, and the intel landesk. Here is the screenshot of my task manager. Everything is running well (and quickly), but any help will be greatly appreciated; I am just a bit worried: <A HREF="http://rdarrel59.tripod.com/task_mgr.doc" target="_new">SCREEN SHOTS OF TASK MANAGER (132KB Word2000 Document)</A>....just in case: http://rdarrel59.tripod.com/task_mgr.doc

Thanks,
-Rick

I'm not sure.....try pasting the url into your address bar. I don't know why the link doesn't work. Thanks.

SPOOLSV.exe is killing you. Download and run Ad Aware (you can get it from Download.com) to see if it's spyware. Run a file search for that and see where it is. I doubt it's something you really need running, so you can probably kill it safely.

I'm pretty sure that is the print spooler.
I had problems with that in my PIII laptop w/Win2k, fixed it, but it wouldn't print...
I had to start the service manually...
SP2 and a few patches later and I didn't have any problems for a month or so... then I nuked 2000 anyway...

btw: I checked my wife's machine, WinXP, she has the same thing running, we've not installed much of anything, I doubt its spyware unless they attached it to a service...
