Help pc wont start after windows update

my windows 7 pc automatically updates when i shut it down...but when i turned it on this morn it wouldnt start, it said windows error. Repair tool wont work, and system restore wont work...when i try system restore it says it completes successfully, i attempt to restsrt but then it just says windows error recovery again and gives me the same options. Tried all restore points and none work. What is my next move?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of Windows? Buddy of mine ran into a BSOD issue this morning with Win8 updates. He had to run system restore a few times.

Sorry man windows 7...im scared to do a return to factory settings cuz ive never done that
