i ve a cel 1.0 ghz .(se 440 bx2)gf2mx 400,512 sdram.i ran sisoft sandra 2002 & got the same results in cpu benchmark as for the p3 1ghz.both for ALU & FPU.I thought that due to 128 k l2 cache of cel 1ghz .it should perform at least 20 % slower.Also in cpu multimedia bench mark it has the same result as the p3 1ghz.But i was totally surprised.Any comments about the benchmark.

I for one was asleep at 3am. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

Sandra probably doesn't take account of cache as much as in real life.

FPU should be about the same. What makes the Celeron crap is TWO things, 1)Cache latency 2)slow bus speed. Those benchmarks you speak of do not include these factors. If you're a gamer, try running 3D-mark 2001 and you'll see at least a 10% difference (I see 15%, and that's capped by the video card), and other apps benefit even more, depending on cache and RAM useage.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

all those benchmarking programs try to simulate real use as closely as possible however there is a number that fail to do so, it is for this reason you should take them all with a grain of salt, especially 3DMark (3DMistake).

i ve got score of 2650 at default setting.anyone having similar configuration except p3 1ghz.How much score did u get?
