Steps:
1) Find your EXACT motherboard model, then go to the SUPPORT/Download site for it.
2) Download and install the latest MAIN chipset driver (sometimes called "INF"). Your Windows version must match (If you have Windows 7 64-bit, but only Vista 64-bit are available try those. Don't try XP drivers with Windows 7).
3) Download and install the SATA drivers (If you don't have a RAID setup don't bother with those. Also, some are only for installing Windows).
4) Also, ensure you are getting Microsoft Updates (usually set to Automatic, in which case you should have gotten at least one notification of Updates).
(also, downloading to a flash drive isn't necessary. You're obviously running Windows already so just download the files to your download folder)
