Is acer aspire 7741g good for gaming

I cannot find a specific spec on acer, you will have to list the specs you're looking at.

Samsung looks like a decent choice for gaming with 540M

As stated above - Budget?? also what games. some games are cpu intensive, others GPU. If games are more related to CPU then a SB CPU with HD3000 may be OK and that reduces power (longer battery on time) and the added cost of a dedicated GPU.
If GPU bound then look for a 540m GPU or equivalent ATI GPU.
