I have been struggling on whether to buy two Athlon MP's or two Athlon XP's to use with an MPX mobo (probably the Asus one)

I have been getting different answers.

Anyone knows the differences and if 2 XP's can be used without problems???

I say, a model is as good as its underlying assumptions <!>

There used to be a website that showed you how to unlock the XP to allow it to work MP in a dual socket A board. If I can find the link (check my old posts) I will post it. Had something to do with crossing the bridge on L5.

thnx for the link, i think i 'll stick with the MP's for $20
more its not worth it. And the unlocking process is much easier with the mp's as opposed to the xp's

know anything about the technical differences between the two?

Yes, the price difference is minimal in the long run. Stick with MPs.

There are posts in the forums over at 2cpu.com about the technical differences. They are rather old so do a search.
