Wireless dilema

I have a laptop that will not connect to any router, but, it will connectto BTOpenzone or BTFon.
I have tried connecting via my BT Home hub with my account, through a friends router/modem with his Virgin account. any ideas?

Well without any laptop specs it's hard to help out with the details.

For a cheap ($15 shipped!) but effective Wireless adapter, I'd consider this: EDIMAX EW-7811Un Wireless Nano Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 Up to 150Mbps Data Rates

Maybe you have a driver issue with your particular wireless adapter, but I don't know. Please forward on some details about your laptop so we can assist you better.
