When I try to start up partition magic 8 the first time its installed, it hangs on the startup screen!! I have to reboot manually but it does the same thing every time. Has any1 else had that happen? I'm using XP pro with service pack on a Athlon 1.2ghz, 512mb pc2100, ibm deskstar 40GB hdd.

o and why wouldn't this forum allow yahoo email addresses when registering??

Mine also does that on IBM 120GXP 80GB as well as Western Digital WD800JB (WinXP) on Abit KG7-RAID (which connects to Highpoint HTP-370 IDE-RAID controller), but it loads fine on my Win98 SE (IBM 60GXP 40GB) on regular IDE. I suspect there is incompatility issue between Highpoint HTP-370 and Partition Magic 8.0.
I have another machine KX7-333R has Highpoint HTP-372 with RAID-0 setting and Partition Magic also works good.

I have the 60GXP 40GB too, on a DFI AK76-SN mobo running WinXP.
Can't turn to powerquest because I was using a bin. The demo from the website did the same thing.
guess I'll just have to use another program then, any suggestions?
