Microsoft wireless keyboard 1 1

Hello,
I cannot get the Microsoft Multimedia 1.1 keyboard to work on a Dell computer running Win 7. the computer does not have a PS2 port and I have used a PS2 to USB converter with no luck. Any suggestions
