That sounds like you might have a browser hijacker. Can you run a virus scan?

run the firefox exe. again. or look for an update to firefox online. if that doesn't work. uninstall firefox and reinstall.

I'm having the same problem with FF on Vista. It appears, in my case at least, to be related to the latest release of the Yahoo toolbar. The problem goes away if I deactivate the Yahoo toolbar in FF add-ons/extensions.

nobody should install those added apps. here's a good example why.

For those that might want to try to work around the problem, follow the instructions on locking FF preferences at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences and use
'lockPref("browser.startup.homepage", "http://yourhomepage.com/");'
(without the single quotes at the ends) in the mozilla.cfg file to lock your homepage setting - and obviously replace 'yourhomepage' with whatever you want yours to be.
