If I install software for example Microsoft ICE, Microsoft Office 2003, Adobe CS6, Kaspersky Antivirus 2011, etc.

The installer launches, the mscexe process is loaded which I can see in task manager and in most cases the initial bars for progress all load up. But then nothing.
Normally you usually are greated with a full background and install prompts or just install prompts.

I don't get anything. It is as if it didn't load up.

Why?
Suggestions?

The computer isn't on internet at all. No spyware or virus, I feel like it is some stupid setting that is enabled that shouldn't be.

I see that this is an old question, but thought I'd answer anyway. You may want to ensure that you are running the installation as an administrator in case the setup program assumes this rather than verifying it and providing a reasonable dialog when the required permission aren't provided.

To do this, right-click on the setup program and select the option for "Run as Administrator"
