as i was browsing a post in this forum i stumbled upon a link to the national inquierer saying that the tbred 2200+ was going to be released on June 10th. Upon looking at the bottom of this page i saw two links to computer parts distributers who seem to be selling this new unreleased processor. What the hell is going on?
I'm not sure exactly how AMD manages its releases, but many companies ship the products out ahead of time and ask that they not be sold before the release date. This is so that everyone already has them in stock by the release date. Of course not everyone decides to wait before selling them...
Those two stores may not ship them 'til June 10th anyways.
most likely these resellers are only advertising the componets, anticipating having them in stock... they are proly on order.
alot of the web resellers pride themselves on being the first to stock a given part.... that said, they make signifigant money if they can get some early orders in, then ship them out when the parts arrive.....

Also here. I think it probably is a Palomino, most likely the last. They probably can't get much higher with the standard HSF. I'd say no one will start shipping the T-bred before June 10.
I was surprised yesterday, to see FutureShop has HP PCs using AXP 2000+! Wow, I was impressed for once an OEM sells some AMD system not being a 1.3GHZ Tbird. Plus it had 512MB DDR RAM, and an 80GB drive. If only more OEMs would sell such systems for a great price!
