wht is the difference between i3,i5andi7?

  2. i3 = dual core w/hyperthreading (4 threads)
    i5 = quad core wo/hyperthreading (4 threads)
    i7 = quad core w/hyperthreading (8 threads)

    Just a bit more info, the i3 CPUs does not support Intel Turbo Boost, while the i5 and i7 CPUs are.

    Also true. However, given the nature of the question, even the brief amount of information I gave is most likely over the OP's head, why add to his/her confusion ;)
  9. i3 is two values below the i5 which is 2 values behind the i7

    Therefore we can conclude that the processor names increase by two for each successive tier
