Dell inspiron 9300 laptop password

Hello, is there anyone out there that can help me unlock this thing. Its been a couple of years since anyone's used it. And to make matters worse, nobody can remember the password.... It's an older laptop, not sure if its worth the effort... but if anyone knows how to get past the administrators password, it would be a big help.... thanks. Diver D. Stkn, Calif.

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Like most responsible Fora, we don't give password cracking advice here at Tom's for fear of helping someone hack someone else's system. The best option here is to remove teh hard disk from that laptop and cut it in half - that way although you can't havethe personal data on it, no-one else can either.

Saga said it best. We do not give out such advice because we cannot verify whether or not you own the laptop.

If you are still having issues, I recommend getting in touch with Dell support. You'll have to provide them with proof of ownership though before they'll assist you.
