I have a DFI AK76-SN motherboard that with a BIOS upgrade will support an AMD XP2100 chip. When the new AMD chips come out at 2200+ will my current motherboard be able to support them assuming a BIOS upgrade becomes available? Or will these new AMD chips require a new motherboard?

the mobo should be fine. will have to update your floppy drive and harddisk drive(s).

I have that same model and had no problem upgrading from a Thunderbird 1 Ghz to a Palamino 1900+. With a bios patch of course. The general consesus among motherboards is that all amd mobos will be able to go all the way to the last Tbreds.
