You can not change the EIDE connector to a SATA connector. Even if you somehow could, an EIDIE controller would not be compatible with a SATA drive. | Report abuse Related ressources IBM Thinkpad T-40 HDD Upgrade - Forum How do i change the cpu in my ibm thinkpad r40 - Forum How to sata controller from ahci to compatible mode ( ide i think) - Forum IBM 's PC business up for sale - Forum Ibm thinkpad t22 hard drive - Forum Ask the community Publish jaguarskx Laptop Authority September 6, 2011 2:09:49 PM Sorry, but the hard drive interface is soldered onto the laptop's motherboard. You cannot simply use a laptop E-IDE to SATA adaptor since none exist. If you want a SATA hard drive, then you need to purchase a new laptop. | Report abuse mcnumpty23 Laptop Expert September 6, 2011 2:27:00 PM if you want a faster hard drive there are a few ide ssd drives but not sure how much faster they would be than the standard ide laptop drive | Report abuse mavroxur September 6, 2011 2:59:39 PM You can't change the interface, it's build onto the motherboard. If you want a faster hard drive, get a 7200 rpm 2.5" ide hard drive, or find a 2.5" SSD. Hitachi makes several 2.5" 7200rpm drives, and SuperTalent makes 16 & 32gb IDE 2.5" SSD's. | Report abuse Register or log in to remove Ask the community Publish Tom's Hardware>Forum>Laptops & Notebooks>How to change my ibm thinkpad ide for a sata> Related ressources: ForumHow to overclock IBM thinkpad 600X ForumIbm t21 thinkpad boot problem ForumCan't get into bios on my Ibm Thinkpad 2621-467 ForumCan't get into bions on my IBM Thinkpad 2621-427 ForumIbm thinkpad r31 issues ForumIBM Thinkpad 2621 & CPU usage w/DVDs ForumIBM T23 harddrive location ForumGaming laptop under 1000 ForumHow to install windows xp on core 2 duo processor ForumHOW DO I RESET MY ACER EXTENSA 5220 BIOS PASSWORD CODE?
