Hey everyone,

I've been trying to install Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2797052) fors some time now. Here are the results I get everytime:

Installation date: ‎3/‎2/‎2013 2:06 PM

Installation status: Failed

Error details: Code 8007000D

Update type: Important

A security issue has been identified that could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to compromise your system and gain control over it. You can help protect your system by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this update, you may have to restart your system.

I have tried to stop windows update, rename the softwaredistribution folder, start windows update and then restart the computer. I also turned off my AVG free edition for the length of "until restart" before downloading. Then I tried to reinstall the update and it will not work. I get the same error code. Optional updates will not install either. Does anyone else have an idea as to what I should do?

I am running windows 7 Professional 64-bit too.
Thanks!

I have a similar problem with update KB2797052 but i don't have problems with optional updates.

My error code was different: '80073712'

I installed Internet Explorer 10, hopefully it doesn't have the same problem with future security updates.

Here is a registry fix that might solve your error:
