I just did a new build and windows 7 wont recognize my WD 36GB Raptor Drive. On my last computer Windows 7 saw this drive just fine. It shows in BIOS but not in Device Manager or Disk Management. I just put it back into my old computer and it works just fine, plus unloaded all the data from it. Any ideas as to how to get this thing up in my new build?

AsRock X79 Extream4-M
Intel i7 3820

How are your SATA ports configured as? The 36GB raptor is SATA1 so I'm not sure if it supports AHCI, etc. If you can configure any of your SATA ports as IDE then try that.

That or the x79 doesn't support SATA1?
