By chance I visited a review of the 845E and G chipsets in zdnet and guess what - there they actually praise the E chipset and say it is better. There is no mention of the fact that DDR333 support is present in the G chipset. So I decided to go to Intel they don't mention DDR333 support on the G chipset which is supposed to fall in a lower performance range /class below the E chipset. Asus also do not brag about DDR333 in their P4B533-V (i845G). In the end does it or does it not support DDR333 and is it better than the E..?

IIRC...the 845E only adds support for 533FSB....
the 845G has unofficial support for ddr333...which basically means the 845G only supports ddr266...but can run ram at ddr333 speeds (i think).

You can overclock the 845E to run 333. It shouldn't be that hard to do either. Intel doesn't want to say it's verified yet and I can't blame them.

I just wish somebody would come out with a i845G with an onboard raid contoller.

That is a nice <b><font color=green>Garbage Can</font color=green></b> you have there!
