I wanna get a new cooler for an Athlon XP 1800+.What do u recommand?Any opionions?any bad expericenes?

Alpha is sweet, but I like the Thermaltake 7+ because it uses the same mounts as the retail HS. The Alpha uses four holes around the CPU which means you have to take the mb off the plate to attach. 7+ clips right on, and has a fan speed control (3 speed) giving you some noise/cooling choices depending on what you're doing at that moment. It comes with a sweet 70mm fan.

(but from what most people say Burger's right, the Alpha rocks with a Sunon fan, so compare prices)

The 4 hole method is better, it ensures your hsf never comes off.

The volcano cools worse and is much louder, the pal8045 is the better hsf imo.

dhlucke, awesome link. Very informative testing. The 7+ giving Swiftech results at full (but noisy) power? Plus, lets not forget that it can fit P4's as well (which I plan to build later this year). For 37$ with fan, not a bad deal.
