OK, this is probably covered elsewhere, but I'm too lazy to look for it. Athlon XP is "specialized" for WIN XP. Does that mean it is inferior if I have WIN 98??? I REALLY dont want to go to XP. Am considering upgrading CPU from Duron 900 to Athlon XP 1800+. Have a ECS K7S5A mobo with 256 k RAM. Any comments??
The term Athlon "XP" is purely a marketing ploy to associate the chip with the latest windows. Athlon doesnt have anything special for windows XP. So no worries...
Benchmarks are like sex, everybody loves doing it, everybody thinks they are good at it.
i don't know. techie, did you read the other thread with my posts about this? bones, i'd suggest if you want to keep an athlonXP healthy and running, to use winXP. you might find yourself having to buy a new cpu because of it. also, i'd recommend upgrading your ram to at least 1mb, that should do.

I find the joke funny mb, but you are doing the community a disservice by spreading false information to people who dont know enough to realize your joking.
