AMDmb says that there is not any difference between the brown and green products. But I noticed that they were able to get a higher overclock, to 2.16 gHz, than anyone else by unlocking the L1 bridges.
The thing that blows my mind is, everyone acted like it is some mystery how the T-Bred will perform. Why? the Athlon XP has been overclocked to around 2.2 gigers and performed very very well. The problem is, the overclocked XP's are running at much higher FSB's thus they perform at a much higher level than a plain cpu mhz boost would show. AMD is still stuck at 266 fsb which is insane. Why the *uck don't they go to 333 or higher with the T-Bred?
The T-Bred 2200+ is a complete waste, why bother releasing it at all. I still will use AMD processors is the vast majority of systems I build because of cost, I just don't like seeing AMD falling further and further behind. And don't give me crap about the Hammer being end all be all for AMD. Hammer is a completely different price range and market. Once again we are all waiting for AMD to bring out the good stuff. Now what are we going to do, sit around and crow how great it will be when Barton is released?
Clutching at straws eh? Not about intel fans....its about all you devoted followers not believing it even when its in front of you. Anand has the t-bred OCing less than Tom, and he unlocked the multipliers. Give it up, all you fans pumped it up, not AMD. People at HardOCP were knocking Tom for providing the article because they couldnt believe it. Said he was biased, and was knocking AMD. Blame yourselves for your crushed hopes.
