Why cant i use my old cds on with my new windows 7, when go to see my recipes it

I made a cook book & put it on CDs, they play good on my XP (ck then out & it was just my recipes) now on my window 7, it plays, but have all these YYYYYYY showing, (recipes are there, but all the YYYYYY in between the lines)??????

The most likely explanation is that the application you used to create the recipes in Windows XP, is not the same application that you are now viewing them with on Windows 7.
