How long should it take to restore acer aspire to factory settings?

I have been restoring my Acer Aspire with Win7 for about 3 hours now. It has been on 32 of 32, Installing Sysprep - Factory Mode for two of the three hours. There is no indication of how much time is left, there seems to be activity, I can hear the drive and there are 3 dots after the word "Mode" that keep "counting".

If it hasn't completed after 4 hours, there is definitely something wrong. The hard drive may be starting to fail, so you should test it with the drive manufacturer's diagnostic software which loads from a bootable CD. The links are here:

I'm having the same problem tonight but mine is 31/31.
