Need your opinion

Hi i'm looking at buying a macbook pro as im a student who uses CAD and i also do alot of advanced hd video editing as a part job and i need a new laptop. my question is are macbook pros worth there money. I am looking for a opinion of someone that has used both. I am not interested in some fanboy opinion. if there is a better alternative option if possible. also a desktop is not a option for me as im on the move most of the time.

They are nice laptops. The only thing I don't like is the price. I would try to get one with a i7 sandy bridge chip if you can or an i5. Have a look at some asus laptops also they are pretty solid. I don't know if you are leaning toward osx or win7 but I guess it doesn't matter as you can run bootcamp and use windows.
