Hi,
I have an Athlon XP2000+ runing on a Abit KX7-333 m/b. I use a zalman Flower cooler with a 92mm speed adjustable fan. after 2-3 hours use on 3D games (so my GF4 Ti 4400 is working hard too) I get a CPU temperature of 64 Deg C. and a case/motherboard temp of 38 Deg C. I only run my cpu fan at 1750 RPM (1400-2600 span).
the system seams stable and I dont get any problems, I also have a 300W quiet PSU and 2 80mm silent fans (one blowing air in at the front of the mini tower case and the other blowing it out at the rear, just under the PSU).
Atm the biggest noice is from the fan on the GF4, since the IBM HD is in a special low noice box too. My box is also filed with pax-mate pads, to dampen any other noice. All in all it has a lot lower noice level than my old PC (AMD 1.2GHz)
Question is, is 64Deg C. too high? whats the recommended temp? and whats the max, but OK temp?
Will I burn my CPU off by continue to run at 64Deg C. ?
