Asus g50vt not turning on

I have a asus g50vt laptop about two years old that wont turn on, no lights nothing.
I had my laptop plugged into my lcd tv via hdmi with a line out into a sound bar, and out of the blue it just turned off. Everything was plugged into a surge protector, and weather was calm.
I have tried everything taking out the battery holding the power button down for 45seconds, and nothing seems to be working. Another thing i find odd is the green light does light up on charge block, but when i plug it into laptop it goes off right away.
Im guessing it the motherboard is fried, but i figure i would post here too see if anyone has any other ideas.

i can't help you, but i have the same problem!
have my g50v for a little over 2 years. i was plugged into a surge protector as well and then it just turned off unexpectedly.
same problem too where the green light was on when it wasn't plugged into the laptop but then turns off once plugged into laptop. also tried the 45 second thing. hopefully someone can help![:(]( ":(")
