Anyone have any news on when Intel will come out with the Pentium 5 or the next chip after P4?

Well, this is a very rough estimate, but according to some sketchy roadmaps, it should come out late 2004/early 2005. That would be the probably be the earliest time.

The next chip will still be a P4 although it will have *a lot* more features such as .09u process and possibly a 1MB L2 cache. Basically it's supposed to be a much improved core. It's the Prescott. The core after that I don't know. So if you're wondering the next chip that's the one, but if you're wondering about Pentium5, I dunno.

What's the deal with lampshades, I mean it's a lamp, why would you want a shade?

This is what we feel now...we're not clearvoyants of Intel's roadmaps. It's like asking what is coming after the AMD Hammer.

The P5 was released in '95, and was later recalled due to a fault in the FPU when dividing certian numbers.

Next intel chip? Suposedly 1H03, but not sure.
