My friend put in his other friends processor to see if it was fried and once he put his processor back in now the computer restarts for about 20 seconds and then it just turns off. Quick help would be appreciated!

All those connections are seated right. My friend has an Athlon XP 2100+, 256MB of DDR 2100 on two 128MB chips, a 350watt ps. He has swapped the PS and RAM. He also took everything out and the computer did not beep. Is that a motherboard problem?? He also reset the CMOS and that didn't work either. I'm thinking it's the motherboard or processor but I'm leaning towards it being the motherboard. Any ideas?

Also, if I swap my processor onto his motherboard and his processor onto mine is there any way that his mobo could wreck me processor or his processor wreck my mobo?
