Hi everyone,

I was wondering if any of you know what is the difference between intel’s Pentium 4, 487 socket set and just Pentium 4. I am looking into the new Asus p4t533-c board with P4 2.26 @533 MHz bus and 512 cache and when I visit price watch, there seem to be two different types of cpu, the regular p4s (more expensive) and the p4s socket 487 (less expensive). Is there any difference between the two other than price?

Thank you in advance,
Turbo

Yeah I think there is. The P4 first came out as a 423 Socket (which I got, therefore killing my upgrade path). Then after a while Intel switched to the 478 Socket. Newer mobos only support the 478 Socket. The 423 is the older version of the P4 basically. Do not get that.
