If it's a recent laptop, the hard drive should be a sata interface, same as desktop. can just remove & plug into you desktop using same cables as normal & transfer data. if it's an older ide interface drive, try something along the lines of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... , although that seems alittle pricey for what it is - try looking on ebay for one, should be able to get for half that price & possibly free delivery
