P4 O/C'ing (continued)(edited)

<edited for grammer correction>
ok i got it to post at 2.66A ghz! However, it's unstable. I need more voltage and it's already maxed out. I do have it at 2.54A ghz and it's a little hair faster then AMD's t-bred 2200+. The memory bandwidth is pretty decent considering it's DDR. it's about 200 points below rdram using sisoft 2002 SP1. I haven't tested for stability yet though.

I noticed my winbond hardware detector is off by quite a bit lol. My cpu temp is at 47C about and hardware monitor is saing it's 30C. And, yes i know the hardware monitoring is usually buggy.

So far so good so ya!

Ok i benchmarked the crap out of it and so far it's stable.

I ran sisoft sandra benchmarks, 3dmark 2001 benchmarks and pcmark2002 benchmark.

My pcmarks are as follows:
CPU score 6222
Memory score 5786
Hard drive score 759

my 3dmark2001 scores are pointless because my videocard is the bottleneck. Highest i can get it is 3884.

oh crap sisoft numbers. i didn't write them down but for cpu both were above the 10,000 mark. i'll do it again tomarrow. I'm quite tired.

Hmm...time for you to search on the internet for motherboard voltage modding. It's possible to push for 2.2 volts if you can override the voltage regulator on the motherboard (Don't ask me where, I just know how it works).

yes but he'll certainly need also a better cooling system with this cpu overclocking.

hmmm ... my system is running fine why would i need a better cooling system? besides Intel has thermal throttling. If it does get to hot it'll just throttle down. No worry of my cpu smoking. at least thats what i think. i could be wrong...

yes but to avoid overclocked cpu throttling down which involves a decrease of performances, i think a better cooling is necessary, no?

What the point overclocking the CPU to see it throttle down???

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

??? where are you getting this that the p4 throttles down as you overclock it? It hasn't throttled down because it isn't that hot.

it is at 2.54ghz and it has NOT throttled down. It throttles down as it hits 75C just as I specified it in the BIOS.

2.66GHz only? I have mine at 2.93GHz 100% stable and 3GHz, but it overheats after an hour or so of torture tests. All at 1.6V!!!

no i have the FSB at the 66mhz. With my board i can fix it at 33mhz.

my videocard is litterally bad. The memory chips overheat.
