Problems with mouse response

my logiteck M317 mouse is "eratic"

Try fresh batteries in the mouse. If still erratic, there may be a conflict with the mouse wireless driver and some other driver.

One way to confirm that is to use a wired USB mouse. If that works okay, I would say there's something conflicting with the Logitech mouse wireless driver.
