I just switched my Heatsink with another one and I must have did something because my monitor will not turn on.

I am unable to turn the computer when it starts up. Usually I hot the power button and it turns off now I have to hold it down. Though maybe this could be a clue.

You would know if you did something wrong. Did you touch anything? Is the heatsinks fan plugged in right? Change anything in the BIOS? Jumpers?

This sig runs too hot.

those beeeps usually mean that memory or video card aint propertly attached.
did you check you memory modules and you video card? remove them and insert them back, to make sure everythings on its place.
good luck.

*sighs*

what CPU do you have?
what heatsink was on it before.
whats on it now?
did u reapply thermal interface material, or did the new heatsink come with it pre-applied?

Yes I reseated both the Memory and the graphics card many times now. I even put in a old graphics card but it still did not work. I also took out the CPU and put it back in.

I am running a
Tbird 1.4
IWill KA266-R
2X 256 DDR PC2100
Elsa Gladiac Geforce 2 GTS 32meg

The old heatsink was a regular standard that comes when you buy the CPU. The new one is a ThermoEngine.

r u sure you attached the fan connector properly and into the correct switch of the motherboard?

try to sit back your old fan and remember well which switch u were using before to connect the fun.

hope this may help u

i used to have the same peoblem with soltek drv2 and volcano 7, before i use V7 i had cooler master so cpu protection bios option was set to shut down if cpu rpm is less than 4000, and since V7 runs about 2500 at start up therefore the computer was not starting and beeping, so i had to change bios setting and disable this option so it worked.

check these settings

wish if there was UnDo in the life

When I take the RAM out and turn on the system it does not make the beep!, so now im not really sure what the problem is, I think the motherboard may be dead.

the bois only beeps from bad video memory, i.e. video card not working. System memory problems dont even make it to post.

"the bois only beeps from bad video memory"

That's not the "only" reason. Mobo's have safety codes, and they beep for a few reasons......The CMOS Jumper could be rolling around inside the case for all we know.

The heatsink fan is working correctly. I looked up the certain beeps and what they do on the Iwill website and my current problem is because of memory. Now I know for sure that the memory is in after spending the last 2 hours on it. I think i may have busted the motherboard somehow.

try some other memory......Clear the CMOS, maybe it cant post w/ your current memory bios settings.
