When I try to start win xp on my other computer (amd athelon xp 1900+) I get a (windows/system32/config/system) error. It says that I can fix it through the win xp cd. Can anyone guide me through the steps I would have to take in order to fix this problem? I don't want to reinstall.

Boot with your XP cd. at the install options press R, then select the partition the OS is on. After you get all booted up...change dir's to c:\windows\repair then copy system c:\windows\system32\config\system
then reboot..

you might have to copy c:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config\system.

That should fix you up
