Boot Problem

When I try to start win xp on my other computer (amd athelon xp 1900+) I get a (windows/system32/config/system) error. It says that I can fix it through the win xp cd. Can anyone guide me through the steps I would have to take in order to fix this problem? I don't want to reinstall.

  1. Boot with your XP cd. at the install options press R, then select the partition the OS is on. After you get all booted up...change dir's to c:\windows\repair then copy system c:\windows\system32\config\system
    then reboot..

you might have to copy c:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config\system.

    That should fix you up
