Sounds good. HyperTransport is probably helping that a lot.
What makes me hesitate to get all excited though is that the specifics of the 4-way Xeon server are completely unlisted. We don't even know what speed the Xeon chip is, nor what size cache. (Heck, we don't even know how much memory it has.)
Without any of those little things called details, saying that the 4-way 1.1GHz Opteron performance is better than a 4-Way Xeon performance is no better than saying that an 800MHz ClawHammer is faster than a 1.6GHz Willamette. An improperly configured (or maybe in this case 'carefully' configured) P4 system can really suck wet dung. Just as a properly configured P4 system can scream.
